This light casts a great array of vivid colors w/out being too bright. In fact, I don't think its glow is a bright as the typical "yellow" glow cast by most night lights. Too bad the fish don't move as the light changes color, but that's not a big deal. Overall, a very nice item. Will be good to use when traveling and staying in hotels where you need some type of light to guide you in a dark room in the middle of the night.

The Nocturnal Blue LED's are very bright, DON'T LOOK AT THEM DIRECTLY.

I bought one of these for my 29 gallon tank to use with a bubble wand. It was easy to set up and worked fine for two days. On the third day, when I came home from work, the first thing I heard when I walked in the front door was a loud buzzing sound. I followed the buzz to find out that it was the air pump. It wasn't the pump itself vibrating against the shelf it was on, but the motor of the pump. My aquarium is towards the back of the house, so for me to hear it as soon as I walked in tells you it was pretty loud. On top of that, there was only a small amount of air coming out of the bubble wand. I figured I'd just gotten a defective one, so I returned it and got a replacement. It worked great for about a month and a half until it woke me up this morning making the same exact loud buzz that the first one did. Low airflow to the bubble wand as well. Unfortunately, it broke after the store's return period expired, so now I can either deal with the manufacturer (which is always fun) or just count my losses and move on.

Would not recommend to others.

This pump was exactly what I needed for a small fountain I have. My fountain came with a solar pump that hardly ever worked and was too big for the fountain - I had to constantly add water so that the pump stayed completely submerged. I must agree with the first person who commented on this item. It truly is PERFECT for small to medium tabletop fountains. It is very small but packs plenty of power! Both the pump and the light are submersible, and the light is beautful buried under colored marbles. With the pump circulating the water, it makes a very nice reflection on the ceiling. The water-flow seems to be the same strength as larger pumps, and its so easy to tuck out of sight.

...if you only use one of the two outputs(like I do), put a piece of hose onto the unused outlet - it will muffle the noise it makes[I don't know why they don't tell you this in the pump instructions!]. If both outlets have hoses on them, whether they are in the water or not, this will be a quiet air pump. Having two outputs is great, you could easily feed two 30 gal tanks with this, and it seems like this could handle a 100 gal tank.

Also!: Make sure to position your bubbles emitting from your stone/bubblewall NOT near(under) your filter intake. The intake will take in the air bubbles and cause significant noise as it spits them out up near the filter[gheez, why don't they tell you this in the pump instructions!]. With a quiet pump and keeping your air bubbles away from the filter intake, you should have a system quiet enough to sleep next to. Therefore I don't recommend using a full length back bubble wall with a top filter, as the filter will take in the bubbles and cause noise.

Whatever you do, don't buy Top Fin pumps,...they're cheap and cheaply made - too noisy. Both Tetra Whisper and Rena brands have superior quiet engineering.

I think this is a great product overall. It is the perfect size for a nano tank. I have a 9 gallon nano saltwater tank and it delivers a great multi directional flow. The best part about it is the magnet holder. Suction cups over time don't work as well and you constantly have to re-adjust them. The only downfall is the price. All powerheads for that matter seem pricey to me for what you get. Overall, I would by this again. Hopefully it has a good long life span.

If you need to pump water a long distance than you should move up to the larger mini jet pump. This pump is very quiet. If you hear vibration noise it is because of parts of the waterfall vibrating. This is a good work horse, my first one lasted non stop for over 2 years.

Ok so i bought the Koralia 400gph to create a stronger current in my 30 gallon freshwater fish tank and it works just fine. It does the job i want it to do and thats make a small current because i have some small danio's (which love current btw) and i didnt want them to get sucked into it. Now the general rule of thumb for tanks is that you always go for a little more power than you need for anything but again becuase of my smaller fish i didnt. I have noticed though that even my 8" bala shark swims against the current and seems to enjoy the small current so even big fish notice it but if you have decent size fish and have between a 30 - 45 gallon tank i suggest going for the 600gph Koralia.

This heater works well, not bad for small tanks (5 gallons or less). I purchased this for my 1 gallon tank, and it heated the water up to the low 80s. The heater works submerged or placed under the tank. I keep my apartment on the cool side, so this heater did the trick. A word of warning, though--if you have a 1-gallon tank, make sure you have a thermometer in it, because if you keep your home temperature in the high 60s and into the 70s, chances are the heater will then heat the water too warmly, into the mid to upper 80s, at which point you'll have to unplug the heater and monitor the temp as needed. Still, not bad for the price.

I bought these for my 2.5gallon killifish tanks. These heaters take up very little space in the small tanks, since they are flat.

But be aware that these heaters don't have temperature controls, so the water temperature will change when the room temperature changes. My tank temperature ranged from 92F to 70F with the heater plugged in from May to December. I had to unplug the heaters on very hot days. It seems that these heater will raise the water temperature in a 2.5gallon thank by 8 to10F over the room temperature.

Finally, all 6 mini heaters that I own have been reliable for 8 months now, and all are consistent in how much they heat the same volume of water.

This is a nice choice for a tank that holds up to 7 gallons. It's totally submersible, ACCURATE, has a very effective thermostat, and is fairly unobtrusive. One feature I like is that its light glows while the water is heating and shuts off once the correct temperature has been reached. It's a good fit for a tank such as the Eclipse 3, especially if you want to house a betta (it also works well in an Eclipse 6); the Theo allows me to acclimate new fish at 86º for a week or so to rid them of any ich they might be harboring, after which it's easy to gradually reduce the temperature to my (and their) preferred 82º.

I also use Marineland Stealths, which I like because they're plastic but frankly, it bears mentioning that Marineland's "lifetime guarantee" carries an Orwellian caveat, i.e., some Stealths are more guaranteed than others. Rather than providing mail-in product registration to activate the warranty, you're expected to hang on to your receipt...well...for a lifetime (yeah, right). In addition, if they don't like the vendor, e.g., you bought it brand new and sealed but from an eBay or Amazon seller, you can kiss your hopes of replacement for a defective unit goodbye (they claim this is due to widespread fraud and people trying to obtain replacements for units found in the trash, but why were so many units trashed if they work forever, and who are these dementos who make a career of scavenging for them? Liver-lipped Finnish Ugly Boy trolls?). Marineland (actually, Aquarium Systems; they manufacture the item in Italy), after much coaxing, replaced a brand-new dead unit for me, but it's only carrying a 90-day warranty; this is because I bought it on eBay and I received an e-slap to the effect that NONE of my other Internet purchases would be covered. On this basis, my suggestion is to boycott Stealths (unless you want to pay list at a pet store) and go with a Theo. They're also manufactured in Italy, they do a great job, and I suspect they're nicer about warranty issues.

I was only hesitant to purchase this because I needed to use it for a ten gallon tank (It's designed for a 7gal) and this was the most affordable option. I urge you to not be anxious yourself, however, as this heater is splendid. It looks reasonably nice and will heat your water (even in a ten-gallon tank); what more can I say? If you need an aquarium heater and have a 10gal, don't sweat it. Just buy it.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the heater doesn't look exactly like the one in the main picture. It's shorter and fatter (proportionately at least...) than pictured. This isn't a bad thing. Just don't freak out, because you ARE getting what you ordered.

I was pleased with this submersible heater for two weeks, when it stopped heating. The green indicator light is showing, but the 1.5 gallon tank temperature has dropped to 71-72 degrees. The red (heating) indicator light has not come on in the past 48 hours. My presumption is the built-in thermostat no longer functions, so the heater part will never come on, if in fact it even still works. The two year warranty is rather pathetic, as I would have to pay shipping + send them a check to defray their costs. As an additional irk, a new Tetra filter pump lasted 3 weeks then stopped pumping out air. I will not purchase any more Tetra products.

I purchased a 25 watt Visi-Therm aquarium heater this week for my 5.5 gallon freshwater tropical aquarium...so far so good. The temperature has maintained where I set it for several days with virtually no fluctuation. The temp scale is printed large and easy to read. The temp adjustment knob at the top is tapered and somewhat tricky to click-turn if you can't get a good grip on it. But once set there's little need to make further adjustments. There's a red LED light that comes on when the unit is heating / the light goes off when the heater cycles off. The bracket has 2 suction cups and securely holds the heater upright and straight.

This brand of aquarium heater came highly recommended by others who wrote online reviews. Amazon and most pet store websites don't carry the 25 watt model, so I bought it on an auction website, total cost included shipping.

This heater warmed up my 10 gallon tank within 24 hours and my Angels just love it! (Sometimes the light scares them - it pops on when the heater turns on - but they do scare easily!) I've never had a problem and even if we lose electricity it comes back on immediately. Great design, very accurate temperature, and there was only one thing I didn't like about it: the suction-cups are nearly impossible to put on! I still reccommend it though!
